The latest Ministry of Justice privacy injunction statistics show that in 2022 there were 12 applications for interim privacy injunctions. This is a similar level to 2020 and 2021 (10 applications in each of those years).
Of the 12 application 9 were successful and undertakings were given in the other 3 cases. In 7 cases the applications were dealt with at private hearings and in 9 of them parties were granted anonymity. No final privacy injunctions were granted.

The total number of new issued privacy cases in the Media and Communications List remains low. In 2022, there were only 14 new issued misuse of private information or breach of privacy cases.
