The Trinity Legal Term began on Tuesday 4 June 2019 and ends on Wednesday 31 July 2019. This post deals with the media law cases listed for this term and cases in which decisions are awaited.

The following trials and applications are listed for this term:

17 June 2019, there will be a PTR in the case of Fentiman v Marsh , a libel claim arising out of a number of online publications.  The Claim Form and Particulars of Claim can be found on Lawtel [£]

17, 18 or 19 June, there will be the hearing of the final day of the 16th CMC in the case of Various Claimants v MGN before Mann J.

20 June 2019, there will be a 1 day hearing the case of Astra Asset Management UK Ltd & ors v Musst Holdings Ltd

2 July 2019, there will be a 3 day trial in the case of Diamond Services SE Ltd v Ogedengbe.  This is a claim for breach of contract and online defamation.  The background can be found in decision of 16 April 2018 on an application to set aside a default judgment [2018] EWHC 773 (QB)

9 July 2019, there will be a 3 day trial in the case of Boyo v Lloyds Bank Plc.

16 July 2019, there will be a 1 day hearing in the case of Yavuz v Tesco Stores Ltd & anr

22 July 2019, there will be a 2-3 day trial in the case of Fentiman v Marsh  (see above).

On 16 and 17 July 2019 the Court of Appeal will hear the claimant’s appeal in the case of Lloyd v Google LLC.  We had a case comment on the first instance decision.

The following cases are awaiting permission to appeal decisions from the Court of Appeal:

The following reserved judgments after public hearings in media law cases are outstanding:
