That doesn’t mean, of course, that the subject has to be approached with po-faced solemnity. So here’s an alternative approach:
- a razor-sharp and highly topical comedy set in a national tabloid newsroom;
- written by Steve Thompson, the writer of the moment (he did the last episode of Sherlock…)
- at the Bridewell Theatre, right by the Journalists’ Church and the closest thing Fleet Street has to a theatre of its own.
“Sharp, slick, cynical and howlingly funny .. a modern The Front Page with balls. I haven’t laughed so much or so loudly in the theatre for a long time” – The Guardian
“One of the most gripping and plausible newspaper dramas I have ever seen” – Charles Spencer, Daily Telegraph
“Hilarious. Thompson’s razor-sharp lines shoot from one side of the room to the other. A great night out” – Tribune
