Inforrm: End of the Summer Break

Wordle: UntitledThe long Inforrm summer break ends today.  With the new legal term beginning on 1 October we are resuming our regular weekly round ups and “term time” posting.  There are a number of developments to look forward to this autumn – with several libel trials and important appeals due to be heard.  On the media regulation front, it seems likely that the Cross-Party Royal Charter will be sealed by the Privy Council very shortly – perhaps as early as the 9 October 2013.  And the following day Lord Justice Leveson will be giving evidence to the House of Commons Culture Media and Sport Committee. We thank all our readers and contributors who, over the past three and a half years, have made this into one of the world’s leading media law blogs.  The blog has now had over 1.6 million page views since February 2010.  The blog has 900 followers and there are 1,892 followers of our twitter feed (@inforrm). Inforrm: End of the Summer Break

Wordle: UntitledToday marks the official end of the Inforrm summer break.  Although the legal vacation continues until 1 October, there is no shortage of media and legal news.  We had a “Mid-Summer Round Up” a couple of weeks ago and we will resume our regular weekly round up tomorrow. Regular readers will have noticed that we have not, in fact, had much of a break this year.  This has been, in large part, due to the two main “media legal” stories of the summer: Royal Privacy and the preparations for the publication of the Leveson report this Autumn.
