Misuse of private information claims were issued against Associated Newspapers by a number of well known claimants including Prince Harry, Sadie Frost, Elton John and Baroness Doreen Lawrence, the mother of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence. The company, publishers of the Mail titles, has always denied phone hacking and other illegal information gathering.  The allegations include burglary and landline tapping. Continue reading

On 1 November 2021, three days after the publication of the President’s Report on Transparency, Mostyn J handed down judgment in a case called BT v CU [2021] EWFC 87; [2022] 1 WLR 1349.
